Holabird & Root

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The architectural firm of Holabird & Root was founded in Chicago in 1880 and is still in operation. Originally known as Holabird & Roche, the firm rose to prominence under the leadership of William Holabird and Martin Roche. After their deaths, the firm was renamed Holabird & Root — a partnership of William's son John Augur Holabird and John Wellborn Root, Jr.

Over the years, the firm's designs have changed many times — from the Chicago School to Art Deco to sustainable architecture.
