[edit] This is beginning to make no sense.

The Plot summary originally made statements about the Manson family coming to the attention of the world in 1977, eight years after Hogg was first written. While I found that confusing (the murders took place in 1969 -- the same year the first draft of Hogg was finished), at least the timeline made sense. Now, with the change of that date to 1969, it reads as though the novel was written in 1961! Which obviously makes no sense at all. This paragraph is in serious need of help. I do note that the first draft was finished pre-Stonewall, which puts it over a month before the Tate-LaBianca murders, but as there was a second draft finished in 1973 we do not know when these Manson family-like attributes were given to Denny. --Kdring 19:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, I see a further revision has been made. I'm still wondering, though, about the line that says "This presages Manson's "'DEATH TO PIGS.'" We do not know that this imagery was contained in the original draft. --Kdring 19:47, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
I decided to go ahead and change the last sentence to reflect the ambiguity. --Kdring 19:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
