Hockeyroos
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hockeyroos are Australia's national women's field hockey team.
The Hockeyroos have been declared Australia's Team of the Year five times and were awarded the Best Australian Team at the 2000 Olympic Games by unanimous verdict. Their major achievement would probably be the collection of three gold medals from four olympic games in a row, but they also have many other successes.
Another noteworthy achievement is Rechelle Hawkes' twelve-year Olympic career with the Hockeyroos (eight as captain) during which she became only the second Australian woman ever to win gold medals at three separate games (the first being Dawn Fraser)
