Hobart Baronets

There have been two creations of baronets with the surname Hobart, one in England and one in the United Kingdom. The first was part of the original creation of 1611, and was created for Sir Henry Hobart, MP for Norwich. The fifth baronet was created Earl of Buckinghamshire in 1746, with which title the baronetcy has remained merged.

The second creation, of Langdown in the County of Southampton, came in 1914 for Sir Robert Henry Hobart, who had previously served as Liberal MP for New Forest from 1906 to 1910. Hobart was the grandson of George Hobart, 3rd Earl of Buckinghamshire. This baronetcy is also extant and the present holder is heir presumptive to the Earldom of Buckinghamshire.
