HMS Sir Isaac Brock

HMS Sir Isaac Brock was an unbuilt warship being built in York, Upper Canada during the War of 1812. The ship was named after the famed hero of the war, Sir Isaac Brock. However, the Americans mounted a surprise attack on York. To prevent its capture, British general Roger Hale Sheaffe ordered that the the ship (still under construction) was to be torched during the British retreat from the town in 1813.

With the sacking of the town of York, the British would respond by burning of the White House in Washington, D.C.

The Sir Isaac Brock was the sister ship to the completed HMS Duke of Gloucester.
