From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
HMS Rotherham, built in 1942, was one of eight R class destroyers that served during the Second World War (the others being Relentless, Roebuck, Rocket, Redoubt, Rapid, Raider and Racehorse). HMS Rotherham spent most of the war patrolling the waters of the East Indies and was present offshore during the Japanese surrender of Singapore. She survived the war with no combat damage or loss of life.
She finished her service with the Royal Navy in 1949 and was sold to the Indian Navy where she was renamed Rajput. She was scrapped in 1976.
