HMS Gorgon (1914)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HMS Gorgon was a Gorgon-class monitor of the Royal Navy. The ship was launched June 9, 1914 and sold for scrap in August 1928.

HMS Gorgon was laid down as HNoMS Nidaros. Along with a sister-ship, HNoMS Bjørgvin, she was under construction at Armstrong Whitworth for the Royal Norwegian Navy. In 1914, both ships were taken over by Britain, and served as HMS Gorgon and HMS Glatton.
