HMS Forest Moor

HMS Forest Moor was a Royal Navy land base.
Its primary function was to route HF signals from bases abroad to UK military bases in the UK and was manned by a small group of Royal Naval radio operators and electricians (approximately six to a shift), it was opened in 1960 and transferred to VT Communications in 2003 under a PPP to provide HF Communications to UK MoD. Forest Moor is now the Network Control Station for the Defence High Frequency Service,DHFCS, provided by VT Communications. Under going an extensive modernisation program it will be the hub of this Global Communications system
