HMS Arab (1901)

HMS Arab (1896 to 1897 Programme) Laid down by J & G Thomson at Clydebank and completed by John Brown & Co. who took over the yard, ran 9 trials between 11th March 1901 and 27th May but only succeeded in reaching 30.5 knots (56 km/h). Three thousand pounds were abated for failure to reach contract speed, the actual price paid being £63,642. 1 x 12 pounder (5 kg), 2 torpedo tubes. Complement 69. Served in home waters, disposed of in 1919.
