HMCS Thiepval

HMCS Thiepval was one of 12 Battle Class trawlers used by the Royal Canadian Navy. On Feb. 27, 1930 HMCS Thiepval hit an uncharted rock and sunk to its resting-place in the channel that now bears its name in the Broken Islands of Barkley Sound on British Columbia's west coast. The wreck is accessible to sport divers as she lies in just 45’. Her deck gun was salvaged many years later and now is displayed in the fishing village of Ucluelet.
