HMAS Vendetta (D08)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The second HMAS Vendetta(DD-08) was a Daring-class destroyer laid down by the Williamstown Dockyard at Melbourne in Victoria on 4 July 1950, launched on 3 May 1954 and commissioned on 26 November 1958. Vendetta was the only Daring class ship in the RAN to see service in the Vietnam War. During this time she saw service as part of the USN shore barrage, ably demonstrating her superiority as a purpose built gun ship, with her pin-point accuracy and high rate of fire.
HMAS Vendetta paid off on 9 October 1979.
