HMAS Larrakia (ACPB 84) is an Australian Armidale class patrol boat. Larrakia was officially commissioned in Darwin on 10 February 2006. Larrakia is based in Darwin and performs border protection and fisheries protection patrols.
The current HMAS Larrakia is the second ship of this name to serve in the Royal Australian Navy.
The first HMAS Larrakia was an air-sea rescue vessel and patrol boat based in Darwin during World War II. The name 'Larrakia' derives from the language group name for the Indigenous people of Darwin.[1]
