HMAS Kalgoorlie

HMAS Kalgoorlie (J-192/B-245/A-119), named for the city of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, was a Bathurst class corvette built by the Broken Hill Propriety Shipyard at Whyalla in South Australia, launched on 7 August 1941 by Mrs. T. Playford, wife of the Premier of South Australia, and commissioned on 7 April 1942. HMAS Kalgoorlie paid off on 8 May 1946, was transferred to the Royal Netherlands Navy and renamed Ternate.
