HMAS Echuca

HMAS Echuca (J-252/M-252), named for Echuca in Victoria, was a Bathurst class corvette built by HMA Naval Dockyard at Williamstown in Victoria, launched on 17 January 1942 by Lady Royle, wife of Sir Guy Royle, and commissioned on 7 September 1942. HMAS Echuca paid off on 29 June 1948, was transferred to the Royal New Zealand Navy on 5 March 1952 and served as HMNZS Echuca until sold for scrap on 11 April 1967.
