Hjal is my nickname at http://www.council-of-elrond.com/forums/ (where I registered as Haldomere Banks) and http://www.khazaddum.com/forums/ . I didn't interact online until 1999, after the LoTR movies were announced. I don't have any expertise in this subject, but I probably will try to flesh out my version of the Tom Bombadil = Aule theory someday.

I'm working on a webpage for my 40th high school reunion, at http://classreport.com/usa/ca/mill_valley/ths/1967/ , and hunting for missing classmates. Based on the work I've done on that, I plan to spend some time here expanding the Tamalpais High School page. I grew up in Stinson Beach, California in Marin County. I will want to add material about that area and time, the 1960s. Even about Bolinas, California, although I won't be posting any maps.

I have some expertise in recycling and solid waste management and will probably try some editing in related subjects.

I work for the City of San Jose, California and live in Fremont, California.

My mother-in-law once worked for a reasonably notable elected official, Paul Peek. I will be adding something about him, even if I can't post what she told me. He's not the rockabilly pioneer, BTW.

I found my ususal signature quote, "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes," in Robert A. Heinlein's Space Cadet when I was a kid. I know that it's juvenile, but I chose to read it as "Who will clean up after the janitors?" Or, sometimes, "...after the garbagemen."
