Template is of course big as the topic covered is vast. Your version is very hard to follow. --Cool CatTalk|@ 20:15, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Picture
Not that I think it will have much effect, but I would like to register my objection to the use of the late Ottoman/Turkish Republic flag as the picture used with this template. Insofar as this flag has been in use for only a bit over 150 years, while the time period covered by the template extends back just over 1,000 years, it doesn't seem to be a very appropriate picture to use. —Saposcat 06:44, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- On history articles generaly the lates flag is used simply beacuse it looks nice. but another flag maybe more apporporate. How about the ottoman flag as it is the longest living nation in the list. --Cool CatTalk|@ 18:40, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm Ottoman Flag is the same as the Turkish flag. ill add the ottoman coat fo arms instead. --Cool CatTalk|@ 18:46, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Still, since the title on the template is "History of Turkey" (despite being belied by the page's name) and the template itself goes back to the Seljuks, I personally think it would be best to remove both the coat of arms and the flag and somehow put a small image of Turkey (as in, roughly, the land, not the country—perhaps a topographical map). —Saposcat 06:12, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Articles are always like this though. template:History of France goes back long before the french republic.
- Seljuks are asumed to be the ancestors of ottomons and the current country Turkey. Ottoman empire expanded more than the map of turkey. Frakly there is no best image and I do not want this template to be text only.

- I don't understand what's the problem with using the flag. It is the History of Turkey so we use the flag of Turkey.--Kagan the Barbarian 10:35, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Where did the "Show" button go?
There is no longer a "Show" button while we have "Click opposite to show" text. It was there yesterday, isn't today? Also I reverted Karabekir's title for the template, its History of Turkey.--Kagan the Barbarian 10:29, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Its there. You just need to wait for the template to load completely. --Cool CatTalk|@ 05:33, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Russian Wars
I replaced the "Russian Wars" link, now links to History of Russo-Turkish wars. Before that, it was pointing to a disambiguating page (Russo-Turkish War, which is generally not a good idea especially in templates. Equendil Talk 16:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Size
This template's size is very large and it's always on down. See; History of Iran, History of France. In Seljuq dynasty article Iranians appears like Seljuq dynasty belong to history of Iran. Please someone change it! Please... - Zaparojdik 22:24, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
