Talk:History of the Konkan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Etymology

Certain places are always prefexed with "the" in the English language - e.g., "the Dangs", not "Dangs"; "the Netherlands", not "Netherlands". In like manner, the Konkan is always "the Konkan" not merely "Konkan". Honestly, though, I do not know why. Idiomatic English, I guess.

Regards.
