Talk:Hispanic supremacy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

While the topic of Hispanic racism is a worthy Wikipedia topic, this current article makes no attempt at NPOV, further more I am not sure that the title is the most accurate or appropriate for this article. -JCarriker 00:10, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

I was about to say the same thing. dbtfztalk 00:15, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

The article has been rewritten as suggested, to avoid use of copyrighted material Hispanic_supremacism/Temp. --Ram2006 12:50, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

No, it hasn't. That page is full of material copied verbatim from other sources. Please do not copy any text from other sources. Please only submit text that you have written yourself. Any text that you do copy should be limited to quotations, and should be clearly marked. Also, most of these organizations already have articles of their own, so please don't include long profiles of the orgainzation, but rather stick to the topic. I'm going to blank the page, please start again. -Will Beback 01:42, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok. check it out now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispanic_supremacism/Temp --Ram2006 02:14, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

That is much better. The problem now is that none of the sources talk about "Hispanic supremacism". Is there "a broad social, political and economic movement of people of Hispanic origin living in USA ... to take control of all public and private institutions in order to advance those interests"? Do we have quotations to that effect? Otherwise it'd be better to say something like, "Opponents claim that groups like LULAC and MechA have a hidden agenda of taking control of...." if we can find such a source. No article in Wikipedia was perfect the first time around. But this is much better, copying-wise. Cheers, -Will Beback 06:30, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Nobody has a problem using the word "White Supremacism" but for some reason hispanic supremacism is too strong? Talk about hypocrisy. As long as the article is delivered from a NPOV its very legitimate and there are many hispanic supremacist groups. The article needs to stay up. 71.131.234.218 19:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Sure, as long as we can find reliable sources that discuss Hispanic supremacism. But we shouldn't decide on our own what it is, or which groups promote it. -Will Beback 20:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
The section on Hispanic supremacist public figures discusses their racist and supremacist statements directed against White Americans and takover of the country. The section provides a link to CCIR where those statements are documented California Coalition for Immigration Reform --Ram2006 23:35, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

What retards keep taking this article off? You might as well take off White supremacism if you're going to take this off.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.188.30.8 (talk • contribs) .

See Hispanic supremacism/Temp. We're drafting a new version. -Will Beback 03:48, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The NPOV tag

...will have to do for now. Isn't there any Hispanic org that makes claims to Hispanic supremacy? The only thing I can think of is José Vasconcelos' theory that "La Raza Cósmica" offered a new potential for mankind. And is it limited to the US? Hispanic people live all over the world. Surely they don't harbor such notions only in the good ol' US of A? Failing any group willing to openly make the claim that "Hispanics are superior", there are plenty of people that claim that LULAC et al. are "racist"/"supremacist" organizations. In which case, the article needs to credit them rather than asserting that the organizations actually "promote hatred". And how many times do I have to clarify that there is no single organization called La Raza? That needs to be cleared up as well. As far as the CCIR quotes, many of them are interpreted as racist by nativist orgs, but many times the meaning is in the eye of the beholder. How about some specificity under the public figures and organizations sections? Not all of them receive tax money-- and the MEChA motto is also a question of interpretation--this has been discussed at length on the MEChA article. WND is not a credible source. BPI was not a riot. And finally, the article should probably be moved to Hispanic supremacy to conform to Asian supremacy and White supremacy. If we purge all the bad info/POV there won't be much left. What this article desperately needs are sources!--Rockero 14:25, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

As far as the CCIR quotes, many of them are interpreted as racist by nativist orgs, but many times the meaning is in the eye of the beholder. - This is ridiculous. First of all, these are not CCIR quotes, these are quotes by hispanics of prominence in USA whose audio quotes are posted on CCIR website. Second, by the same account when whites are accused of racism, it is only the eye of the non-white beholder.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.247.12.127 (talk • contribs).
If such people and phrases are so racist why is it that the only sources that can be found come from racist organizations like the CCIR? What about some SPLC or ADL links? Both orgs are a lot more unbiased and reliable than anything mentioned here. BTW this whole article, in its present form, is looking like yet another white supremacist conspiracy theory article just like the reconquista article. It wouldn't even surprise me if it's the same group of people keeping both articles "alive."Mosquito-001 20:40, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Anti-white racism is the hallmark of "tolerant" liberalism. SPLC and ADL are disgraceful hate fronts promoting the supremacist views of the racial groups whose financial interests they represent. And how could anyone know about Hispanic Supremacy if all the media, courts, big business and government institutions are controlled by the same people who promote anti-White hate in today's world. I think there's already a conspiracy theory wiki. Please feel free to post ideas on the conspiracy theory wiki on how to improve that article Mosquito-001 19:08, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
