Princess Hirut Desta is the daughter of Ras Desta Damtew and Princess Tenagnework Haile Selassie, and granddaughter of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. She is the widow of General Nega Tegegn, who was governor of the provinces of Begemder and Semien.
