Hirata Masumune

Hirata Masumune (平田増宗?) (????-1610) a retainer of the Japanese clan of Shimazu during the Azuchi-Momoyama Period of the 17th century. Throughout Masumune's service under the Shimazu, he acted as councilor to Shimazu Tadatsune. However, Masumune ended up being assassinated on suspicion of treason.
