The Hipshooters are a band from New Zealand currently based in Brisbane, Australia.

The Hipshooters are a dynamic 3-Piece. They formed in Auckland in 1993 but have been based in Brisbane since 1998, playing all the major Australasia Blues Festivals and firmly establishing themselves on the local Australian scene. While mainstay of the band, the members have all been in other more well known and lesser known musical groups.

  • Bass guitarist, Billy Williams has played in many New Zealand bands including Blerta[2]. Ticket, Classic Affair, Space Farm, Monsoon, Shazzam, Doc Savage and the Phil Keys Band Of Light.
  • "Tippy" was a member of the group, Hard to Handle prior to forming Hipshooters with Billy in 1993.[3]
  • Paul Dunningham played in many New Zealand bands, including Hello Sailor (band) and Misex.
  • John Forbes runs his own entertainment business in Brisbane, Australia, and has played under Hook-Line and Singer, with Lynn Forbes. [4]
