Hino Ranger

The Hino Ranger is a medium to heavy duty cab-over truck.

Hino has been competed in Dakar Rally since 1991 with Ranger FT 4WD truck driven by the Japanese rally driver, Yoshimasa Sugawara. He always finished in the Top 10 in Camion Category, and 1st in the category in the 1997 event.

The Ranger KL was introduced in Japan in 1969.

Japanese model production ended in 1989, Indonesian model lasted until 2003.

Models in Indonesia are FF172, FF173, FL176, FM226, and SG221. The FF and SG were marketed as Super Ranger, the FL and FM are Jumbo Ranger.

Marketed in Japan as Ranger Pro, or Hino 500 Series for export. Retain the Super Ranger and Jumbo Ranger names in Indonesia. In Malaysia, it's called Validus.

The new Ranger is available as FC, FD, FE, FG 6 wheeler rear drive, and 4-wheel drive FT. 6x2 is FL. 6x4 is FM. Tractor Head is offered in SG 4x2 and FM 6x4. The G-series are GD, GX 4WD, and GK 6x4.
