Hill college
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In several collegiate universities, a group of the colleges are known as the "hill" colleges.
- In the University of Cambridge, the "hill" colleges are so known because they are located to the North-West of the city centre on the only reasonably-sized hill in the centre of Cambridge, Castle Hill. They are Churchill, Fitzwilliam, Girton and New Hall.
- In the University of Durham, the colleges situated on Elvet Hill are the "hill" colleges. They are Grey, Collingwood, Josephine Butler, Van Mildert, St Aidan's, Trevelyan and St Mary's.
- Also, Spring Hill College is sometimes colloquially referred to as "the college on the hill".
