Higurashi Shrine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Higurashi Shrine is a fictional location in the manga and anime series InuYasha.

The shrine is home to Kagome Higurashi and her family, which includes her younger brother Sota, her mother, and her grandfather. According to Kagome, her family has acted at as the shrine keepers for several generations.

Since there is very little income to be had, Kagome's grandfather is constantly trying to sell various artifacts, such as replicas of the legendary Shikon Jewel (the Jewel of Four Souls).

The shrine itself contains several buildings, including the main shrine, the Higurashis' house, storehouses containing various artifacts, and building enclosing the Bone Eater's Well, which serves as a portal for Kagome and Inuyasha whenever they move between the Warring States Era and Kagome's time.

In the English Manga it is also called the Sunset Shrine.
