Highway 1 (PE)

Route 1 is the Prince Edward Island section of the Trans-Canada Highway. The total distance of the Trans- Canada Highway in Prince Edward Island is 111 km (70 miles).

Route 1 traverses through the southern side of Prince Edward Island and is an uncontrolled access 2-lane secondary highway with a maximum speed limit of 90 km/h (55 mph).

Route 1 passes through:

• Confederation Bridge at Borden-Carleton
• Route 1A interchange at Albany
• Crapaud
• Bonshaw
• Cornwall
• Charlottetown
  • Route 1 through Charlottetown runs on the Upton Road and Charlottetown Arterial Highway (a controlled access 2-lane highway) and Riverside Drive
• Stratford
• Vernon Bridge
• Belfast
• Northumberland Ferries ferry terminal at Wood Islands
