HGTV Design Star is a reality show currently airing on HGTV every Sunday night at 9 PM Eastern Daylight Time/Pacific Daylight Time, with encore presentations Thursdays at 8 PM E/P and Saturdays at 6 PM E/P. The host is Clive Pearse. The designers are judged by Vern Yip, Cynthia Rowley, and Martha McCully. Each week the contestants participate in a interior design challenge, such as redecorating a New York apartment using a color (red, yellow, blue, or green) chosen at random or redecorating a small living room using only supplies bought from a camping store, cosmetics store, pet store, or auto parts shop. The contestants are competing for their own design show on HGTV. Each week the judges eliminate at least one designer by saying, "Your show has been cancelled."
