HGTV, which stands for Home & Garden Television is a Canadian cable television specialty channel owned and operated by Alliance Atlantis Communications and The E.W. Scripps Company. It consists of programs regarding the home and garden. Programs range from renovations, design, real estate, and remodeling.
During the 2003 North America blackout, because of its Toronto location, all Alliance Atlantis-owned channels aired the feed of this channel until power could be restored.
