Photographed by Patrick Edwin Moran. Heteropoda venatoria (Huntsman spider) with an egg case. Since this spider had not mated it could not have laid fertile eggs, and the egg sac appears to be empty. Nevertheless she will carry it around for about two weeks, during which time she will not eat.
