Heswall railway station is a railway station located on the eastern edge of the town of Heswall on the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside, England. It is situated on the Borderlands Line. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Arriva Trains Wales.

The station was previously known as Heswall Hills, as there was previously another station serving Heswall, on the line from West Kirby to Hooton that is now a footpath known as the Wirral Way.

[edit] Original Heswall station

This station was built on the line from Hooton to West Kirby in 1886. This line passed through the western side of Heswall, alongside the River Dee. This station closed to passengers in 1956 and closed completely in 1962. While being on the line currently occupied by the Wirral Way any walker following the former track bed will not pass close to the station's site; this was raised and built over in the 1960s and all walkers, cyclists, etc. must take a detour to regain the track bed.

[edit] Services

From Monday to Saturday, there is an hourly service between Bidston and Wrexham Central. There is an irregular service on Sundays.
