[edit] Non-notable spouses

List of people with Wikipedia bio articles, who are basically not notable except for being married to a notable person. Obviously this is inherently subjective. If you see something you don't like, change it. I don't know what value this list has, but who knows?

People who have their own categories (First Ladies, Queen Consorts, etc.) aren't included. If you want to add/remove someone or change something but aren't comfortable with the table format, just leave a link below the tables or a note on the talk page.

  • Class A: Person is notable in his her or own right, for reasons substantially unrelated to his or her relationship with spouse. Class A people do not belong on this list.
  • Class B: Person is notable in his or her own right, but such notability was achieved by virtue of advantages (fame, wealth, position, connections) originally obtained from relationship with spouse.
  • Class C: Person is notable in his or her own right, but such notability is directly attributable to relationship with spouse.
  • Class D: Person is notable only because of his or her relationship with spouse. Typically, person inspired spouse or had significant influence on spouse or had some fame because spouse was very famous.
  • Class E: Person is not notable. No great fame, or influence on spouse. It's arguable that some or all Class E people should not have Wikipedia bios.
  • Parameter +: Disputable, person might be notable anyway, or might have become notable on their own, but probably much less notable if not for relationship with spouse.
  • Parameter R: Royalty and aristocracy. Most royals have their own category (e.g., Queen Consorts) and there are too many of them anyway to sort out, so only a few get on this list, and they have their own section.
