Hershey High School is one of four buildings which comprise the campus of the Derry Township School District in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It has been nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School for being an exceptional academic institution.[citation needed]

[edit] Curriculum
The curriculum at Hershey High School is dynamic and changes frequently. There is an English Department which includes courses in journalism, speech, writing composition, literature, and other concepts of the English language. The Mathematics Department offers courses in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, precalculus and calculus, finance, statistics, and computer science. The Social Studies department has courses in American and world history as well as courses which focus on aspects of society such as law and money. The Science Department offers classes in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, and biotechnology. There are elective courses offered in foreign languages, music, drama, engineering and AutoCAD, accounting and business, and computers. Health courses include physical education, strength and conditioning, health, highway safety and driver's education.

Hershey High School has a drama program which produces a large musical each year, in addition to smaller productions throughout the year. in March 2006, Hershey High became the first high school to perform "Cats" by Andrew Lloyd Weber. The musical sold out and was extremely successful. The 2007 musical will be "Beauty and the Beast", music by Alan Menken; lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. There are a number of clubs such as Future Business Leaders of America, Youth in Government, Young Democrats, and other organizations for students to belong to. A student-produced newspaper, the nationally-recognized "Broadcaster", is distributed throughout the year. A literary magazine, "Nexus", is also produced with works by students.

Hershey High has a football, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, field hockey, boys and girls golf, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, track, cross country, swimming and diving,girls lacrosse,boys and girls tennis, and hockey team. Hershey High is a member of the Mid-Penn Confrence of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, or PIAA. It is a AAA school. Hershey High has a marching band, cheerleading squad, pep band, and pep squad which support athletics throughout the year. HHS plays its home football games at Hersheypark Stadium, as does neighboring Lower Dauphin High School.

Hershey High's school colors are blue and orange. The mascot is the Trojan, but a costumed mascot does not appear at sporting events. Hershey's principal rivals are the Milton Hershey School, Lower Dauphin Schools, and Palmyra Schools, all of which are in the vicinity of Hershey.
Every year, Hershey plays a football game against the Milton Hershey School, which is called the "Cocoa Bean Classic". This, along with homecoming, is generally the best-atended game each year.
The fight song is "Onward Trojans", which is sung to the tune of "On, Wisconsin."

The class of 2006-2007 marks the 100th graduating class from Hershey High School.
At the close of the 2005-2006 school year, Hershey's mascot, a hand-made wood carving of a Trojan, made in Italy, was decapitated, presumably as a graduation prank.
The Class of 2009 is the largest graduating class to ever pass through Hershey High School.
