Heroic (horse)

Heroic was a champion sire of racehorses in Australia. He was sired from Valais out of Chersonese and foaled at Tarwyn Park, Bylong, New South Wales. He was the Australian champion sire from 1933 to 1938, 6 years in all. He sired the great Ajax, who won 18 races in a row.
As a racehorse, he was also a champion, winning 21 from 51 starts. He won the 1926 Cox Plate, which his son Ajax emulated in 1938. As a reward from his great efforts as a sire and racehorse, he was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.
