[edit] Big Break

From modeling on billboards to being cast as an extra in such shows as Berks and Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Hero tried everything he could to be of help to his struggling family, which underwent one financial trial after another over the course of his young life.

A naturally shy and reserved loner, a frustrated Hero took it upon himself to provide financial support for his parents despite being busy with schoolwork for his Fine Arts degree in UP. This path finally led him to audition for ABS-CBN's Star Circle Quest , but neither Hero nor his parents knew the extent of the success Hero's gamble would bring to both him and his family.

Hero Ángeles bested four other contestants in the Grand Finals for the title "Grand Questor" in the first season of ABS-CBN's reality star search in the Philippines, Star Circle Quest(SCQ).

[edit] Filmography

He has appeared in two films. The first, Bcuz of U, is a trilogy with Heart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann, Kristine Hermosa and Diether Ocampo, and Sandara Park (his love interest); in the second, Can This Be Love directed by Jose Javier Reyes, he also co-stars with Park. Both performers also starred in the TV series Krystala. Hero Angeles will son appear as part of the upcoming GMA Network mid-2007 teledrama Kahit Wala Ka Na, alongside Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado.

[edit] Controversial Downfall

After a controversial dispute with a TV reporter, his co-star Sandara Park, and ABS-CBN, he attempted to transfer to rival channel, GMA Network. However, while negotiations for his transfer were still in process, his acting career was mysteriously nipped in the bud. There were suspicions that there was a grand conspiracy in "killing" his career, before ABS-CBN lost its credibility for failing to protect its own talents and for losing a potential big earner to a rival station.

It was also said by one famous manager that Hero's manager, who happened to be his brother, Henry Ángeles, is one of the causes of Hero Ángeles' downfall.

For his fans, the use of Hero's name was said to be over when ABS-CBN launched it's newest TV Channel, HERO, an animation show channel, but ABS-CBN has not release any statement regarding these allegations.

Hero is currently out of the show business and is concentrating on his college studies at the University of the Philippines in Diliman and enhancing his acting abilities.

[edit] A Comeback?

Very recently, Hero is being seen more and more on television (on GMA Network). He has been guesting in shows like Startalk, Sis and Showbiz Stripped.

Now that Hero is under GMA, some rumours that he will star alongside Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras in the upcoming teledrama Kahit Wala Ka Na. The series will also include the television comeback of Princess Punzalan and Cesar Montano.
