- Queen Hermione of Sicilia in William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale.
- The scornful love of Pyrrhus and loving mother of Astyanax, in Racine's Andromaque. After Andromache has persuaded Orestes to murder Pyrrhus, in the act of ascending the altar with Hermione, the latter becomes Regent of Epirus.
