Hera Pheri (Hindi: हेरा फेरी, Urdu: ہیرا پھیری) is a 2000 Bollywood comedy directed by Priyadarshan. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty and Tabu. The sequel to the film, Phir Hera Pheri is now released.

The film is a second remake of the hit Malayalam movie 'Ramji Rao Speaking' (1989) directed by the Lal-Siddique duo. The first remake was directed by Fazil in Tamil, titled 'Arangetra Velai' (1990).

The movie revolves around the lives of three men who live in Mumbai City, each having monetary troubles that they find impossible to solve. Needy Shyam (Sunil Shetty) strives for a job in order to pay back an old friend (Om Puri), Raju (Akshay Kumar), a daydreaming lothario who needs money to support his old mother and Baburao (Paresh Rawal), their boisterous, slow witted yet kind hearted landlord who's struggling to pay off his late father's debts.

The first half of the movie revolves around their attempts to solve their problems, with humourous consequences.

The second half shows the characters willingness to cheat to become wealthy so they can clear their debts

Hera Pheri is seen among the general public as one of the best Bollywood comedy movies of the current decade.
