Her Reason (Japanese: 「彼女の理由」 - Kanojo no Riyuu) is episode 26 of the Fullmetal Alchemist TV series originally aired 2004-04-03.
Izumi Curtis, Ed and Al's teacher, shows up at Central looking for them, but she has missed them by a few days. Edward, Alphonse and Winry arrive at Rush Valley, home to many of the finest makers of automail. As they take in the sights, they come upon an arm-wrestling contest open to anyone with an automail arm. Ed and Al quickly figure out the game is alchemically rigged, so Ed, feeling rather justified, cheats the cheaters. Winry is furious when she finds out Ed cheated (as if the automail arm she made for him wasn't good enough), so she decides to teach Ed a lesson. She asks Paninya, a young woman who lost the arm-wrestling contest, to steal Ed's pocket watch in a game of "keep away." Meanwhile, Colonel Mustang learns from Major Armstrong that more than one person was involved in the death of Brigadier General Hughes, and the conspiracy extends into the upper ranks of the military.
[edit] Trivia
- Lt. Colonel Frank Archer makes his second cameo appearance alongside General Hakuro.
- The writers appear to have included a foreshadowing of the other side of The Gate, seen in the invoice that Colonel Mustang received from the Elrics. The note read:
"Dear Colonel Roy Mustang
Please have HQ pay all the bills for my hospitalization, medication, food, etc. This section, by featuring a number of objects of special from the contemporary collections of the Science Museum. shows how broad and multi faceted a contribution modern Britain is making to science and technology. and also sheds light on the Science Museum's policy.
Thanks
Edward Elric"
