I just checked my driver's license, and I'm definitely not John_Lott. The only "evidence" in Talk:John_Lott seems to be that anybody who comments on the bias in the John_Lott entry is assumed to be a sockpuppet.

I'm a professor at a small midwestern university. I was interested in linking to some wikipedia articles for some classes I'm teaching in digital design and computer organization. Since the state of the art changes so rapidly in these fields, a "living document" seemed like a good thing to reference. I found enough garbage posing as fact on Wikipedia to change my mind quickly, but didn't get involved (or even get an account) until I saw what was happening to the John Lott page. Clearly biased points of view were being listed as "fact", and anyone who pointed out the bias (much less corrected the bias) was labelled as a "sock puppet. There seemed to be a clique that had decided to supress John_Lott's research by constantly vandalizing the page. I didn't bother to make any corrections, just pointed out that the point of view was contentious (as evidenced by the fast and furious rate of revision).

Why is restoring a POV tag "sock puppetry", but taking it away is OK?
