Henry Thomas Alken

Henry Thomas Alken (October 12, 1785 – April 7, 1851) was an English painter and engraver.
He was born in London.
British sporting artist of fox-hunting and steeple-chasing scenes.He also illustrated The National Sports of Great Britain and his larger paintings were often in the manner of a frieze.The Belvoir Hunt-The Meet in a set of four,is a typical example of this style.His most famous sporting print being The Night Riders of Nacton'.
