Henry H. Whiting

Henry Hudson Whiting was born in Colorado in 1924, and grew up in Winchester, Virginia, where his trial practice flourished after his graduation from the University of Virginia Law School. He was named to the Winchester Circuit Court in 1980 by Gov. John N. Dalton. Justice Whiting was elected by the General Assembly to serve on the Supreme Court in 1987 following the retirement of Justice George M. Cochran. He served on the Court until he retired in 1995. Justice Whiting continued to serve the Court as a Senior Justice for several more years after his retirement.
