Henry Casimir II of Nassau-Diez

Hendrik Casimir II (The Hague 18 January 1657 - Leeuwarden 25 March 1696), Count of Nassau-Dietz, Stadtholder of Friesland and Groningen (1664-1696), eldest son of Willem Frederik of Nassau-Dietz and Albertine Agnes of Orange. He followed, under protection of his mother, his father as Stadtholder of Friesland and Groningen. In 1675 the State of Friesland voted to make the Stadtholdership hereditary in the house of Nassau-Dietz. Hendrik Casimir II was therefor the first Friesian Stadtholder. He was married in 1683 to his cousin Henriëtte Amalia van Anhalt-Dessau. Hedrik Casimir was succeeded as Stadtholder by his son Johan Willem Friso of Orange-Nassau.
