Henri Büsser

Henri Büsser (January 16, 1872December 30, 1973) was a French classical music composer and conductor.

Henri-Paul Büsser was born in Toulouse, Haute-Garonne, France. The musical secretary to Charles Gounod, he was an 1893 winner of the Prix de Rome for music. As a conductor, Büsser assisted composer Claude Debussy and, during the last two decades of Jules Massenet's life, was one of Massenets's closest protégés.

His noted students include the Japanese composer Tomojiro Ikenouchi (1906-1991).

He married the noted soprano Yvonne Gall (1885-1972).

Henri Büsser died in Paris in 1973 at the age of 101.
