Henderson Avenue

Henderson Avenue is a collector road in York Region or Town of Markham. This street goes in a north-south direction. The street terminates at Toronto Ladies Golf Course and Steeles Avenue. South of Steeles Avenue, the street is referred to Maxome Avenue.

Henderson Avenue has a lot of traffic between John Street through Clark Avenue, and to Doncaster Avenue. The street is fairly flat, with a maximum speed is 50 km/h. Most of the traffic then redirected into Doncaster Avenue into Yonge Street. Several stop signs are found along the road.

For the section between John Street and Steeles Avenue,the road is paved and painted with lanes, one lane per direction, and with occasional stop signs. However, no lanes are painted from John Street to Toronto Ladies Golf Course. Frequent stops signs are reported. There are occasional potholes reported along the street. The road is busy in daytime, and traffic is reduced in nighttime. The road is more like a suburban road due to the influence of Old Thornhill.

Between Toronto Ladies Golf Course and John Street, the main zonings are golf course but there are some residence mixing in. Between John Street and Clark Avenue, and from Doncaster Avenue to Steeles Avenue, it is all residence. Between Clark Avenue and Doncaster Avenue, the main zoning is light industrial.
