Hemmingford, is a township in southern Quebec founded in 1799 by Frederick Scriver. In 1877, the Township separated, creating two separate entities: the Township of Hemmingford and the Village of Hemmingford. The two entities are locally reffered too collectively as Hemmingford.

Hemmingford is located in the south-east corner of the former Huntingdon County. It sits between what was the Seigniory of Beauharnois and Seigniory of Lacolle. Prior to its survey in 1792 and 1793, the Township was called "Waste lands".

Located due south of Montreal in the located in Montérégie., Hemmingford borders Franklin County, in New York State, United States, Havelock, St-Chrysostome, St-Clotilde, Sherrington, and St-Bernard-de-Lacolle.

Local attractions include Parc Safari, The Hemmingford Golf and Country Club, and many local apple growers.
