Helgeandsholmen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Helgeandsholmen is a small island in the center of Stockholm, Sweden. The island is directly north of Stadsholmen and the Royal Palace together with which it forms the Old town of Stockholm.

A single building stands on the island, which is the building of the Swedish parliament, the Riksdag. The name Helgeandsholmen is a corruption of "Den helige andes holme", meaning "The Islet of the Holy Spirit".
