Helena Peabody
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Helena Peabody is a fictional character on the Showtime television network series The L Word, shown nationally in the United States. She is played by British actress Rachel Shelley. Helena first appears during the season two episode 2.04:Lynch Pin.
In 1998, Helena was sued for sexual harassment; the claim was settled out of court. In 2002, Helena violated a restraining order filed against her by her psychiatrist.
When her mother, Peggy Peabody, retired, she handed the reins of the Peabody Foundation to Helena. Helena then shifted the foundation's focus away from the arts and towards community service. With Bette losing her job at the CAC, Helena put the moves on Tina, noticing her pregnancy before Bette.
Although this did not last, Helena still offered a position as an executive producer to Tina when she acquired a movie studio. Helena tried to seduce Dylan, a filmmaker, but found herself slapped with another sexual harassment lawsuit.
Helena helped Dana somewhat in her last days of her battle with cancer and was at her funeral. She also supported Max's transsexual operation fundraiser.
Helena has two adopted children, but does not always live up to the custody agreement. The children appear to be OK with Helena's many affairs, often asking if her lover can come along with them on activities such as swimming or going to the zoo.
