Helen Alfredsson

Helen Alfredsson (born 9 April 1965 in Gothenburg) is a Swedish golfer. She turned professional on 1 January 1989 and began her professional career on the Ladies European Tour. She was rookie of the year in her first season, and in 1990 she won the Women's British Open. Her rookie season on the LPGA Tour was 1992 and she has won five LPGA Tour events, including one LPGA major, the 1993 Nabisco Dinah Shore.
Alfredsson has continued to be play a limited number of events in Europe, where she has won eleven events as of June 2005. She finished top of the European money list in 1998. She has been a member of the European team in the Solheim Cup five times: 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002. She has also won tournaments in Australia and Japan.
She is married to former NHL hockeyplayer Kent Nilsson and step-mother of his son New York Islanders player Robert Nilsson.
