Helenów (Goleniów)

Helenów, to 1945 Helgenfeld, the part of town Goleniów, in Goleniów District, Poland, situated about 2 km sotuthern from the centre of town, near road leading to Stargard Szczeciński, by the river Wiśniówka, on the edge of Równina Goleniowska (Goleniów Plain) and Równina Nowogardzka (Nowogard Plain), from west side arrounded by forests of Puszcza Goleniowska (Goleniów Forest).
Village Helenów was linked with town in 1954. Presently that is the part of town (suburb Helenów, it has its own self-government)suburb council. There is a church NMP, built after World War II, near stays Maria's Chapel and belltower. Near old railway cross is situated also a chapel devoted to Maria, called Madonna of Helenów. There are some workshops and companies in Helenów (transport, craft), the primary school nr 3, football pitch, medical point and post office. The oldest buildings are from the beginning of XX century. That is a typical living part of town. Some time ago it was linked with Goleniów and Maszewo by railway line, which was removed in 2005. There may be a new bicycle road. Worth sightseeing is also an old watermill by the river Wiśniówka.
