Held Up is a 1999 comedy film starring Jamie Foxx and Nia Long. It follows a couple who become stranded in the southwest United States while on vacation. Michael (Foxx) gets left behind at a gas station that becomes held up by Mexican robbers and the people inside are eventually taken hostage and a stadoff ensues. After the robbery one of the robbers named Rodrigo tries to escape with his crate along with the other robbers Trina and Sal, But they drive off leaving Rodrigo and the crate. After a wild stand-off Michael (Foxx), Mary and Rodrigo exit the store and Mike tells the cops the body in the box was Rodrigo's father and Rodrigo wanted to take him back to Mexico, The cops give Rodrigo a bus and him and Mary go to Mexico, Mike learns that the sheriff didn't hold the plane cause "It's in the book." Mike goes to the airport to look for his girlfriend but sees the runway is empty. But out of the blue Rae(Long) comes to Mike on a baggage cart, And they both board a plane to Chicago and then Trina and Sal rob the plane and see Mike and his girlfriend Rae and scream to him "MICHAEL!!" and the movie ends.
While this film features a fair amount of good talent, including Julie Hagerty (of Airplane fame), and Northern Exposure's Barry Corbin and John Cullum, as well as Foxx, it doesn't really do much with that talent.
