[edit] Re: Hi
Hey Heimstern! I wasn't expecting to see you here! I've been pretty MIA due to work. I've been making only minor edits here and there. My wiki-prevention mechanism (having an entirely separate account for making edits) has been working all too well. The only reason I made it on tonight is cuz I had watched an episode of Inuyasha and wanted to see where it was in the episode list, and then I got your message! Hope everything is going well for you also! --Stux 07:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] B flat major
Thanks for the correction of the Haydn symphony keys; I seem to remember my source saying just "B", which I was skeptical of, as you proved correct.
By the way, what key do you hear when you drop a piano down a mineshaft?
A flat minor. +ILike2BeAnonymous 01:22, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cheers brother,
I really dig wikipedia for indeed its neutrality and all that stuff. Thanks for keeping it that way. But astology is still bunk.
[edit] RFA thanks
Thanks so much for your support on my RFA, which closed successfully this morning with a result of (64/3/3). I will be stepping lightly at first trying to make sure I don't mess up too badly using the tools. Any further advice/guidance will be gratefully accepted. I hope I will live up to your trust! [edit] Pluto
What do you have against pluto? Whos to say the IAU can just 'vote' planets out? If it is considered a planet by most, then it is in fact a planet. Have you heard about Stephen Colbert's concept of truthiness? If enough people reconize something as true then it will override everything previously said and it will become true. Now, my edits were not 'vandalizm' I just want people to reconize pluto as a planet so it will become a planet again. 71.12.218.102 22:06, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Comment from 24.6.59.197
Well maybe if you "Moderators" would stop using Wiki for your own agenda and start looking at the content of pages people wouldn't get pissed off at you guys. You, or that other guy know nothing about the comic Whiskerville and just assumed that it was SPAM. I've seen other web comic on Wiki and I see no reason why Whiskerville can't stay.
[edit] Okay...
Let's try it this way then. You have made the assumption that a comic is unnoteable. I'm fairly new to wiki and couldn't find out how to send the messages like you have done to my IP. You guys aren't even giving the guy a chance to prove he belongs here just as these other "noteable" webcomics. I left that message because it was the only way I saw to leave one back to him at the time...for my vandalism I apologize. I don't understand how you can say someone like Keyra Augustina is "Notable" for showing her behind on the internet, but an established comic on the new isn't. So he hasn't done much advertising...big deal. The comics been around for over 4+ years and has a fan base well into the hundreds. All I'm asking is you give his comic a chance. How do you know it's notable? Who made you the deciding people? He has just as much right to have his comic on Wiki as every other webcomic that's on here. If you delete him then you better delete them all unless they are Garfield or something. All I'm asking is you GIVE IT A CHANCE...or are we taking away the freedom that is Wikipedia.
[edit] Thank you...
I appreciate you direction on this. Here is how I feel it works in Whiskervilles favor:
Wiki says: The content is distributed via a site which is both well known and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine, an online publisher, or an online broadcaster.[7]
Well Whiskerville is distributed online via a few places. One is Whiskerville.com obviously, two is Testcase.net and three is Jokethemonkey.com. So on any given week Whiskerville is seen by over 10000 people on the internet.
Does that work? Or am I stretching it? And just so you know, I am not the guy who does whiskerville...I'm just a fan.
[edit] Thank you...(2)
... for safeguarding my user and talk pages from the slings and arrows of outraged teenagers. :) -- Merope 02:52, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- I was so proud of my first user page vandalism and my first injunction to have sexual congress with myself. But now... now it's getting old. I get the most vandalism from doing new page patrol and using {{nn-warn}} on people's pages--they don't like to be told that their band's MySpace page doesn't qualify as a reliable source. Once I had someone change my userpage to say "I am a homosexual. I suck lots of dick." Instead of reverting it, I put {{contradict}} up and then giggled for five minutes. I make my own fun. Anyway, happy editing. -- Merope 03:17, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Before you go removing "vandalism"...
...read the talk page. Of course, said vandalism was not made under a username (which is what turns vandalism into legitimate material). Except that I provided reasoning that the content removed violated Wikipedia's standards, which, as I am sure you know, prohibit the inclusion of advertising material in articles. And you did not.
[edit] Greetings!
Excellent! I'd seen your name around but had no idea where you were (I suppose I'd assumed Germany). We had a little Wikimeet earlier this year: Angela was in town. There's a couple other regular editors here. I know UCSB well, having done a couple years of undergrad there; indeed I've been pillaging the Arts Library stacks for information on 15th century music in the last few weeks. In spite of what I say on my user page, 19th century German music is pretty much what I grew up with and know best myself ... Oh, there's a lot to be done here in the area of music theory. Cheers! [edit] RfA thanks
Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 66/11/5. I learned quite a bit during the process, and I expect to be learning a lot more in the days ahead. I appreciate the feedback I received from you and the other neutral votes, and I hope I can earn your trust. I will be taking things slowly (and doing a lot of re-reading), but please let me know if there is anything I can do to improve in my new capacity. -- Merope Talk 13:51, 6 October 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] China sockpuppets
Another day, another sockpuppet.
Thanks for submitting the report. How do we include others (New Dingdong, A9a9, etc) in a sockpuppetry report? Does a new report have to be done or can I edit the existing report to add them?
I don't mean to be racist (being Chinese myself), but what's with editors on China and sockpuppetry? These people are bizarre. --Sumple (Talk) 00:02, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Arghh I can't handle it anymore! Can't they all just be blocked? --Sumple (Talk) 00:37, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah okay I'm pissed off, only because my edits has been reverted at least 5-7 times FOR NO REASON AT ALL, alright? -TheBird
[edit] RfA thanks from StuffOfInterest
Thank you for participating in my RfA, which finished with a tally of 52/6/1 (~90%). It was an interesting process which gave me a chance to learn a bit about myself and about the community. My intention now is to slowly ease into using those additional buttons on my page. No use being over eager and mucking up the works. The support of all those who went over my record and/or rallied to my defense after the big oppose vote was instumental to the success of this review. Again, thank you! --StuffOfInterest 12:08, 10 October 2006 (UTC) |

[edit] civility notice
Note to anyone who may be reading this: I recently left the same notice on this user's talk page because he wrote edit summaries saying that Wikipedia is stupid. The user was blocked indefinitely a bit later.
It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! --Imthepower 02:35, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism (2)
Hi there; although i think the RfA has gone beyond on this occasion, I am answering here rather than responding inappropriately on the discussion page. Your comment about my request for Admin help; did you note that the vandal i was seeking help for had hit my userpage four times in about ten minutes? And even then I used no profanity, obsecenity, nor did I insult him!--Anthony.bradbury 22:38, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- No, no, no. The whole reason for my coming to this page was to keep my question away from the RfA debate. I had absolutely no intention of trying to influence you in any way whatsoever, nor was I trying to change your comment. Were I to do that then even I would vote to oppose. No, it's just that that particular vandal got right under my skin, and I wondered if you knew why. But you are right, the request was badly worded. I was younger then!!
