Wikipediaholics, there is hope. I was one, but I believe I've been cured. Check my user contributions, they've plummeted from obsessive (see my May 2004 edits) to nearly zilch. I was once one of the Wiki's top 1000 contributors. I can barely even remember how to build a link anymore. If it's November, I might be using my writing skills on NaNoWriMo. I was a winner in 2004, and I am currently editing and expanding my novel. I currently maintain two blogs, one of which is linked below. I have taken up podcasting at radiotelepathy.net, which is also linked below. I also spend much more time meditating, gardening, cleaning my home, and organizing my music collection. I've forgotten most of those conventions that are unique to editing the Wikipedia. You can have a life, too.
I am still officially a public participant in the Wikiproject on alternative medicine as far as i know, but I suppose the project has been hacked to death by now. Wikipedia's English language version is hopelessly hostile to alternative medicine. Read the talk pages and see for yourself. I have contributed on a number of other topics, particularly music and local topics for the Puget Sound region. I copy edit almost every article I read because unlike most Americans, I can read, write, and spell rather well. But I no longer consider the Wikipedia to be a valid source of information for anything remotely controversial.
I am a professional Medical intuitive, Medical qi gong practitioner, and Licensed Acupuncturist. My photo with my face full of needles had been posted on the Acupuncture page, but I'm not surprised to see it has been removed. It is shown below in case you are interested. I have been studying traditional Chinese medicine since 1991 and I received my Master's degree in acupuncture in 1994. I am also a musician since 1974 and DJ since 1984. I have a Bachelor's degree in English with a creative writing concentration, with Honors and a Women's studies minor. I have done a bit of work toward a Ph.D. as well. I live in the City of Subdued Excitement.
